Resumo

Introdução

Identities are sources of meaning for people. They are characterized by containing particularities present in the culture, group and environment in which the individual is inserted, mainly by shared meanings.

Problema de Pesquisa e Objetivo

The objective outlined for this study was to understand the construction of the identity of military women in their work context, considering motivational and environmental aspects.

Fundamentação Teórica

The identity constitution is also interconnected with the work environment, especially when it comes to non-conventional organizations, where there are relevant disparities among workers, in the cases of this study, the military women of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).

Metodologia

To achieve the following results, in-depth interviews were used as a data collection technique with fifteen military women who work in different hierarchies inside the Brazilian Air Force. through content analysis.

Análise dos Resultados

The results reveal that women continue to conquer their spaces in the armed forces and open paths for new women.

Conclusão

This research made it possible to understand how the identity of military women in the Brazilian Air Force is constructed and redefined within a traditionally male and hierarchical organizational environment. Through the narratives of the interviewees, it became evident that, despite the progress achieved, there are still challenges related to acceptance, professional recognition, and the breaking of gender stigmas. The identity of these women is shaped both by their personal motivations and by the conditions and experiences lived in the military environment.

Contribuição / Impacto

This research contributed theoretically to a better understanding of women's identity in the military context, reinforcing research on this topic in organizational studies and in practice will help to suppress negative categorizations and prejudices that still exist in relation to women in the military context.
