Introdução
This research investigates the organizational culture and personal values in a family-owned business in Brazil. The researcher, also a co-owner, provides insider access to the company’s strategic and cultural dynamics, aiming to understand how personal values influence long-term organizational outcomes.
Problema de Pesquisa e Objetivo
How can understanding the personal values of founders and employees help align culture and strategy? The study aims to identify these values using the CVAT tool to assess their alignment with organizational culture and guide strategic decisions.
Fundamentação Teórica
The study draws on theories of organizational culture and personal values, using frameworks from Rokeach, Nelson, and Kluckhohn. It explores how these values shape perceptions of real and ideal cultures in organizations and their impact on strategic alignment.
Metodologia
A quantitative research approach was used with the CVAT tool to collect and analyze data from employees and founders. The study examined personal and organizational values across demographic variables, using SPSS for statistical analysis.
Análise dos Resultados
Data from the founder and successor were compared using CVAT scores. Despite divergent personal values, both showed alignment in perceived and ideal culture, suggesting that shared cultural perceptions can bridge personal differences.

Understanding individual values in a family firm enhances cultural clarity and strategic direction. Aligning personal and corporate values supports long-term sustainability and continuity in family-owned businesses.
Contribuição / Impacto
