Reumo

The promotion of the entrepreneurial university highlights the importance of contextual factors in technology transfer. However, the individual and psychological characteristics of school educators are often neglected. This study seeks to understand the relevant cognitive and psychological aspects in the formation of identity and entrepreneurial intention of academic researchers through a systematic review of the literature.
Seeking to understand which psychological cognitive variables can contribute to the construction of the academic entrepreneur's identity, the research question arises: What are the relevant cognitive and psychological aspects that the literature on the subject has presented about the formation of the identity and entrepreneurial intention of academic researchers ? This study aims to carry out a systematic review of the literature to identify relevant aspects in the formation of identity and entrepreneurial intention of academic researchers, revealing possible emerging topics in the area.
Entrepreneurial universities connect academia and industry, but academics face challenges in balancing their academic and business identities. The lack of in-depth exploration hampers the development of supportive policies. Previous studies have analyzed socio-contextual factors and individual variables, but other cognitive and psychological variables remain poorly understood. Entrepreneurial academics use strategies to manage their identities. Understanding these aspects is crucial to promoting technology transfer and developing effective public policies.
It is noted that entrepreneurial identities serve as cognitive structures to understand the meaning of being an entrepreneur, influenced by capture and social actions related to the discovery and exploitation of opportunities. Some studies explore cognitive, behavioral patterns and personality traits in relation to entrepreneurial identity. The effects of the human ability to attribute states to others have not been fully explored, so evolutionary psychology has the potential to contribute to the understanding of the construction of entrepreneurial identity among scientists.
431 articles related to the theme were analyzed using the Biblioshiny bibliometric package. Ajzen's theory of behavior (1991) emerged as a prominent theoretical lens in the area. The most cited work was that of Liñán, Rodríguez-Cohard and Rueda-Cantuche (2011). The analysis identified a co-citation network, revealing the predominance of social psychology and highlighting the research potential from the perspective of evolutionary psychology.
